Research Interests:

Stellar structure and evolution: pulsation, convection

My main research interests have been stellar structure and stellar stability, specifically hydrodynamical phenomena in pulsating stars. In recent years I have been studying time-dependent convection, which is important in many pulsating stars and in other objects like novae. The object is to obtain a better understanding of the causes of the instability and more insight into the structure of these stars. The main technique is the numerical solution of partial differential equations on computers.
