Professor Oppenheimer received his B.A. in Physics from Columbia University and his Ph.D. in Astronomy from the California Institute of Technology. He was a Hubble Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley and at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), and a Kalbfleisch Research Fellow at the AMNH. He is currently an associate curator in the Astrophysics Department of AMNH and an adjunct associate professor at Columbia.
