Professor MacLow received a B.A. in Physics from Princeton University and a PhD. in Physics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was a postdoctoral fellow at NASA Ames Research Center, at Berkeley, and at the University of Chicago, and a staff member at the Max-Planck Institut in Heidelberg, Germany. He is a curator in the Department of Astrophysics at the AMNH, as well as chair of the museum's Physical Sciences Division.
