Graduate student Imre Bartos appears in the 2011 “Rising Stars of Science: The Forbes 30 Under 30”. The magazine describe Bartos as a “Diverse dude”, highlighting his research into not only black hole formation, but also the physics of mosquitos eyes.
The list's author remarked “... these days, making a contribution to science requires coming to understand more specialized information that [sic] ever before, not to mention a need to get your hands on expensive gadgets like DNA sequencers and particle accelerators. Nobody in science makes it by age 30 anymore. That's what I told my editors. I was wrong.”
Bartos studies multimessenger astronomy, focusing on gravitational radiation. He is part of the LIGO collaboration.
