 Syllabus (in PDF)

prerequisites:
Prerequisite: a working knowledge of calculus.
Corequisite: a course in calculus-based general physics

text:
Bradley W. Carroll and Dale A. Ostlie: An Introduction to Modern Astrophysics,
Addison-Wesley Pub., 1996; ISN 0201547309
note: This text will also serve for C2002: Introduction to Astrophysics, II.
If you know you will not be taking that course, you can get the
shorter version of the book:
Dale A. Ostlie and Bradley W. Carroll: An Introduction to Modern  Stellar Astrophysics,
Addison-Wesley Pub., 1996; ISN 0201598809,
which is about half the volume (no Galactic and Extragalactic astronomy),
and a little cheaper (but not much).
