Zhaoming Gan

Research Interests

Zhaoming Gan is an astrophysicist investigating the energetic phenomena in active galaxies. At Columbia, Gan’s primary work is on the coevolution between galaxies and their central supermassive black holes, via large-dynamical-range simulations with sophistic galaxy model, stellar physics, ISM fluid dynamics, and feedback from active galactic nuclei. Gan is also interested in general plasma physics, especially the turbulence in the solar winds.

Research Topics: galaxy formation and evolution, black holes, and space physics.
