General Relativistic Magnetohydrodynamic Accretion Disks

Standard accretion disk models assume geometrically thin accretion disks have a sharp inner edge at the innermost stable circular orbit. Black hole spin measurements rely on this assumption. I will present simulations of three-dimensional, magnetohydrodynamic accretion disks in the Kerr metric for a range of black hole spins and disk thicknesses. I will compare the simulated disks with standard accretion disk models and discuss their impact on black hole spin measurements.
