Michael Allison

Research Interests

Professor Allison graduated with an A.B. Cum Laude in Physics and English at Wittenberg University and received his Ph.D. in Space Physics and Astronomy at Rice University. He worked for many years at the NASA / Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City, serving on the science teams of several planetary flight projects, including the Cassini/Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan and more recently Juno at Jupiter. In addition to his studies of planetary atmospheric dynamics, he has published defining work on planetary solar timing, and also pursues an interest in astronomy / space history. Professor Allison is a member of the International Astronomical Union and a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society.
