Dr. Angus is an Assistant Curator of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History, an Associate Research Scientist at the Flatiron Institute's Center for Computational Astrophysics and an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Columbia University.
Dr. Angus studies the stars and planets that make up the Milky Way Galaxy. She is currently developing methods to measure the ages of stars and the planets that orbit them using large astronomical surveys such as Kepler, TESS and Gaia. She is interested in the dynamical evolution of planetary systems as well as the Milky Way galaxy as a whole. She also studies stellar rotation and magnetic activity, and the affects of stellar magnetism on planets. She uses statistical data analysis and machine learning methods throughout her research.
