Jingyao Zhu is an astronomy Ph.D. student at Columbia University. She received a Bachelor's in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Before coming to Columbia, she worked as a research assistant at Illinois Astronomy and Stanford Solar Observatories Group. Her research interest lies in gas dynamics and galaxy evolution, using numerical simulations and radio observations.
