Shreyas Vissapragada was awarded a 2019 Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, awarded to students pursuing a PhD at an American institution. Shreyas graduated in 2017 from Columbia with a major in Astrophysics, and went to Caltech to pursue a PhD in planetary sciences. His interests focus on astrochemistry and planet formation, pursuing astrochemical modeling with Daniel Savin, and theoretical studies of planet formation. See here for more information.
